Fourth
Auto Summit
Changing Face of Auto Retailing-A Global Perspective
Automobile scenario in India
Catalysed by the Government's initiative on rural roads
and better connectivity with major towns and cities and
fuelled by improved agricultural performance and upward
trend of purchasing power of customers, the Indian Automobile
Industry is slated to cross the 10 million new vehicles
production mark for the first time by the end of FY2005-06.
This would represent a robust growth of 17%+ over the 8.5
million vehicles - two-wheelers, three-wheelers, cars and
utility vehicles, and trucks and buses produced in FY 2004-05.
Passenger vehicles are expected to post a growth of 10%,
commercial vehicle segment would clock a growth rate of
15% and two-wheeler segment by over 13%.
Recognising that the vigorous growth rate and rapid globalisation
triggered by liberalised trade and economic policies would
lead to a paradigm shift in the Indian auto scenario FADA
will be organising its largest and most prestigious biennial
Auto Retail event, Auto Summit 2006, centred
on the theme 'Changing Face of Auto Retailing -
A Global Perspective'.
Speakers from Automobile industry & Allied businesses, Government,
Management consultants, Academia and experts, from all over
India, neighbouring countries of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh,
Nepal, Thailand, Indonesia, etc., as also from UK, USA and
other parts of world, will assemble at Auto Summit 2006,
to deliberate to identify the existing as I well as emerging
challenges and opportunities. The discussions will also
focus on the inter-play of competitive forces, management
of a gamut of complex laws governing the retail auto business,
the importance of relationship management in a competitive
environment and consolidation and sustenance of growth through
partnerships with the Government, industry and other stakeholders.
Auto Summit 2006 is being organized by
FADA in association with Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers.
The Summit coincides with the 8th Auto Expo (12th-17th January
2006) organized by SIAM, CII & ACMA.
Past Auto Summits:
FADA has organized 3 similar Summits in 2000, 2002 and 2004,
all timed with the Auto Expo. Each was immensely successful
with the participation of nearly 1000 delegates. The 1st
Auto Summit 2000 (Theme: Millennium Challenges. Opportunities
& Threats to Auto Dealerships) provided a forum
for discussions on Marketing, Customer Satisfaction, Viability,
Workshop & Spare Parts Management, Dealership Infrastructure,
etc. Capitalizing on the success of the 1st Auto Summit,
the 2nd Auto Summit 2002 (Theme: Building Relationships)
deliberated on issues such as: Leadership, Market Scenario,
Changing Focus and establishing linkages. The 3rd
Auto Summit 2004 (Theme: Consolidating Partnerships. the
Road Ahead) carried forward the deliberations of
Auto Summit 2002 and helped in providing a roadmap for partnerships
among the various stakeholders in automotive business, who
needed to come to terms with the paradigm shift brought
about by the competitive markets.
