Preparations for FADA’s Auto Summit 2012 Gather Steam Auto Summit Committee of FADA met on 11th November 2011 at New Delhi to review the progress of preparations for Auto Summit 2012 scheduled for 9th & 10th January 2012 in New Delhi during Auto Expo. Expressing its satisfaction over the pace & status of preparations, the Committee was happy to note that a number of companies have come forward to extend their support to the Summit by way of sponsorship. The response from the speakers invited has been equally encouraging with all key speakers confirming their participation. There is a palpable enthusiasm and excitement among automobile dealer fraternity with registrations pouring in and growing significantly with each passing day. The Committee also noted that the response to the 3rd edition of ADEA, viz. 2011 has been tremendous, the number of applicants seeking recognition under various categories of awards having registered a quantum jump. This goes to show that ADEA that made a humble beginning in 2009 is growing in popularity and stature. The next day at the same venue, FADA Council held its meeting. While appreciating the satisfactory progress on the preparations for Auto Summit 2012 and ADEA, Council expressed its concern over the slowing auto market. With fears of slowdown lurking on the horizon, Council felt that auto market is faced with the tough, challenging times, at least in the next 1-2 years. Council also noted with alarm the ever increasing costs of dealership operations, making the viability a major issue of concern for most of the automobile dealerships. What was notable was the presence of automobile dealers from North East Region both in Auto Summit Committee meeting and Council meeting. North East Automobile Dealers Association (NEADA) representing automobile dealers in North East region, formed recently at a meeting in Guwahati was formally admitted as an Association Member of FADA. Nikunj Sanghi, President, FADA presented the Membership Certificate to the office bearers of NEADA in the presence of other council members present on the occasion.
