Rahul Bajaj Conferred Yet Another Award
Rahul Bajaj Chairman, of Bajaj Auto Limited was conferred
the Alumni Achievement Award by the Harvard Business School
(HBS) from where he did his MBA in 1964, The award was given
at a function, which took place at the HBS campus on 30th
September 2005. Rahul Bajaj is the only Indian HBS MBA to
receive this award so far.
The HBS Alumni Achievement Award is given annually to a
very small number of graduates. This year only five alumni
were conferred this award. The HBS seeks to honour individuals
of integrity whose strategic vision drives their organisations,
whose creativity and innovation inspire their colleagues
and employees, and whose leadership is an example for others
to follow.
On receiving the HBS Alumni Achievement Award, Rahul Bajaj
said, "It's a great honour for me to receive this coveted
award. This is not merely a recognition of my achievements
as an individual but that of all my associates at Bajaj
Auto. This award brings global recognition to Bajaj Auto
and its thousands of employees,"
Says Kim B Clark, Dean of Faculty, HBS, "The impact Rahul
Bajaj has had in the business arena made him an ideal candidate
for the award. This award is a symbol of HBS appreciation
for the standard that he has set."
This is the fourth major recognition received by Rahul Bajaj
in less than a year's time, with the Economic Times and
Ernst & Young bestowing their "lifetime achievement" awards
on him in November 2004, Rani Durgavati University (t./le
erstwhile University of Jabalpur) conferring the degree
of Doctor of Letters (Honoris Causa) in March 2005 and lIT
Roorkee conferring the degree of Doctor of Arts (Honoris
Causa) in September 2005.
