Council Meeting of FADA at Mumbai

The 238th meeting of FADA Council was held on 17th November 2007 at Hotel Star Sahara, Mumbai. The meeting coincided with the AGM of the Automobile Dealers Association of Maharashtra (ADAM) - a founder member of FADA, which was also held on the same day and at the same place.

Before the formal commencement of Council Meeting, eBay Motors India - a B2B portal dealing in used vehicles made a presentation on how the portal operates and how automobile dealers could benefit from their association with the portal. The presentation evoked a keen interest of automobile dealers present at the meeting.

At the Council Meeting held thereafter, Mr S P Shah, Managing Director, Neptune Equipment Private Limited (Mumbai); Mr Nikunj Sanghi, Managing Director, J S Fourwheel Motors Private Limited (Alwar); and Mr Ashish M Gupta, Executive Director, Hind Motors Ltd (Chandigarh) were elected as Vice President, Honorary Secretary and Honorary Treasurer, respectively of FADA for the year 2007-08.

 
Mr Pradip R Kamdar, Director, Automotive Manufacturers Pvt Ltd (Ahmedabad) - had already been elected as the President at the previous meeting held in September 2007.

The meeting reviewed the progress of preparations of FADA's mega biennial event, viz. Auto Summit 2008 scheduled to be held on 14th & 15th January 2008 at New Delhi.

Council noted with satisfaction that the programme of the Summit had shaped up very well with Hon'ble Union Minister of Commerce and Industry and eminent leaders of industry and allied businesses confirming their participation. Council also noted the overwhelming response to the Summit by way of sponsorship and participation.

Meeting of the Automobile Traders Association Delhi (ATAD)

A meeting of the members of Automobile Traders Association Delhi (ATAD) - a founder member of FADA, was held on December 14, 2007 at Chelmsford Club, Raisina Road, New Delhi.

The meeting discussed the issues relating to registration of vehicles in Delhi, viz -

1) Delay in registration of vehicles in Delhi - The delay was as much as 2-3 months in some cases;

2) Usefulness of affidavit in support of address proof; and

3) Problems in online registration.

 
It was decided to meet the Transport Commissioner of Delhi in a delegation to discuss and sort out these issues.

Meeting of Organising Committee of Auto Summit 2008

A meeting of the Organising Committee of Auto Summit 2008 was held on December 16, 2007 at Hotel Hans Plaza, Barakhamba Road, New Delhi to review the programme and preparations for the Auto Summit 2008.
