Sania Mirza is Brand Ambassador for Hyundai Getz
Hyundai Motor India has signed Indian tennis star, Sania
Mirza, as the brand ambassador of the Getz.
Sania, who has caught the imagination of an entire generation
with her sterling performances in major tennis tournaments
across the world, will endorse the Getz in all Hyundai promotions
for the next three years. There is a perfect brand connect
between the Getz and Sania. Sania Mirza's exploits in tennis,
her self-confidence and attitude are totally in sync with
the youthful "Getz U" positioning of the car.
As Sania sets out to achieve greater heights in her game,
Hyundai will be at her side, supporting her training and
hard work in the highly competitive field of international
tennis.
Commenting on the choice of the brand ambassador, Hyundai
Motor India President, B V R Subbu said, "We couldn't have
chosen a more appropriate brand ambassador for the Getz.
Sania's pursuit of excellence in her game, her self-belief
and her personality is compatible with the Getz. This is
also part of our efforts to support promising sportspersons
and athletes to help them excel in their sport," he added.
Hyundai's relationship with tennis is not incidental, but
part of a larger plan to boost and promote sports in the
country. When the Getz was launched in India last year,
Hyundai had organised tennis tournaments in Delhi and Mumbai
to boost and popularise the game. Hyundai has also tied
up with International Cricket Council to sponsor the ICC
Awards, called the Hyundai ICC Awards, which acknowledges
excellence in cricket.
Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor India too increased
the prices of the Accent by up to Rs. 9,000 and the premium
hatchback Getz by up to Rs. 7,000 across variants. The increase
on Accent ranges from 1.32% to 1.42% and on Getz from 1.33%
to 1.38% across variants and has been necessitated by a
variety of cost-push factors.
