Set up in December 2000 by Kamal & Company Group Trust under Vocational Training Programme, Kamal Ratan Auto & Engineering Institute has made rapid strides since its inception.
The Institute, situated at Tonk Road, Jaipur is managed by the members of famous Kamal & Company Group and luminaries drawn from academic world and automobile dealerships in Rajasthan. Members of the present Governing Council of the Institute include, among others, Mr Payonidhi Kasliwal and Mr Sudhanidhi Kasliwal of Kamal & Company Group; Mr K S Gehlot, MD, K S Motors Ltd; Mr Rajan Sanghi, MD, Western Indian States Motors Ltd; and Prof. (Dr) Raaj Sharma, Director, Cistern Institute of Information Technology, Jaipur. The Institute functions under the overall supervision of Mr O P Harkut, Director.
Under its programme, "Learn & Earn", the Institute is doing a yeomen service to the automobile dealerships in Rajasthan by catering to their needs in various areas of dealership operations. The emphasis of the Institute is on imparting practical orientation to the training, as it has often been found that there is a wide gap between theoretical and practical knowledge of new persons joining automobile dealerships and workshops. No wonder then, all the students numbering over 80, who had received training from the Institute as 2/4- Wheeler Mechanics, Mechanic - Auto Electrical & AC, Denter & Painter, Workshop Supervisors, Sales Executives and Computer Accountants, in the last 2 years or so, have been successfully placed in various Automobile Dealerships in Rajasthan.
Responding to the pioneering work being done by the Kamal Ratan Auto & Engineering Institute in making available competent manpower for dealership operations, the Automobile Dealers in Rajasthan have offered to impart on-the-job training to the Institute's trainees at their dealerships.
The training facilities available at the Institute are excellent. The fact that TELCO, Bajaj and other companies are using these facilities for their regional training programmes bears testimony to that.
The success story notwithstanding, the Institute is not resting on its laurels. The institute proposes to start the following new courses:
|
| ▪ |
"O" Level Computer Course of DOEACC, to start with, and subsequently "A" Level Course; |
| ▪ |
Courses dedicated to women to train them for placement as Receptionist, Computer Operator and Sales Executive in Automobile Dealerships; and |
| ▪ |
Management Courses in various disciplines in due course of time. |
|
With the aim of reaching out to students from other regions of Rajasthan, the Institute has sought to create more hostel facilities at reasonable cost for the outstation students. And, to ensure that the poor and needy students are not deprived of their livelihood, the Institute has recently instituted merit scholarships and merit-cum-means assistance based on merit and need.
The demand for new courses to cater to the current and emerging needs of Automobile Dealerships is increasing with each passing day. The Institute has therefore decided to go for a big-ticket expansion and to acquire a plot of land measuring 10,000 sqm in Jhalala Institutional Area, Sitapura Indl. Area or any other suitable place in and around Jaipur.
The Automobile Dealers can contribute their mite in this noble task undertaken by Kamal and Company Group for the common good of automobile dealers, by taking the trainees of the Institute as apprentices and absorbing them in their dealerships/workshops if these trainees come up to their expectations. The Institute therefore seeks the cooperation & support of all Automobile Dealers in Rajasthan and elsewhere to make this initiative a grand success for the benefit of the dealer fraternity as a whole.
