FADA
Academy's Pilot Project Picks Up Steam
A robust growth of automobile industry over the last few years has
brought about a buoyant sentiment. However, managing and sustaining
the growth presents a new challenge. A fallout of the phenomenal
growth is the shortage of trained manpower suiting the needs of
automobile dealerships in the context of present and emerging scenario.
To address this ubiquitous problem, FADA has taken a major initiative
to start certificate/diploma courses, in association with reputed
institutions, to cater to the requirements of Sales Executives,
Spare Parts Supervisors and Service Supervisors in automobile dealerships
and their workshops. The programme initiated under the aegis of
FADA Academy - a training wing of FADA, will initially be launched
at Mumbai and Pune as a pilot and extended to other parts of the
country in a phased manner.
This major initiative of FADA is shaping up well. The groundwork
for engagement of consultant, affiliation of institutions, preparation
of curricula, training faculty and tying up with automobile dealerships
for imparting practical training to the candidates to be enrolled
for the course and providing employment on their successfully completing
the course, is progressing at a fast pace.
Recently, Kalyan Malshe, earlier associated with Bajaj Auto Ltd
as General Manager (Marketing), who is currently engaged in consultancy
through his consulting firm by the name "Balaji Management Consultants"
was appointed as Consultant to steer the project for and on behalf
of FADA.
The agreement signing ceremony was held on 10th September 2005 at
Pune. The agreement was signed by Jayendra Kachalia - Past President
on behalf of Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations and Kalyan
Malshe on behalf of Baiaji Management Consultants, in the presence
of Vinay Nevatia, Past President and Yogesh Shah, Council Member,
FADA.
According to the time-table drawn up, the first batch of courses
will start in February 2006. |
