Madhur Bajaj is the New President of SIAM
Ravi Kant Elected Vice President, SIAM
Madhur Bajaj, Vice Chairman, Bajaj Auto Limited, was elected
President of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers
(SIAM) at its Executive Committee Meeting held on 1st September
2005. Madhur Bajaj succeeds Jagdish Khattar, Managing Director,
Maruti Udyog Limited, who completed an eventful two-year term.
After graduating in commerce, Bajaj did his MBA from Lausanne,
Switzerland, and joined as Deputy General Manager, Bajaj Auto
Limited, in March 1983. After serving in as the Chief Executive,
President and Executive Director of Bajaj Auto Limited, he
was appointed as Vice-Chairman in 2001. Madhur Bajaj is on
the boards of several other companies
Ravi Kant was elected Vice President of SIAM. He is the Managing
Director of Tata Motors Limited, which is India's largest
automobile manufacturing company. Ravi Kant has extensive
experience in consumer durables and the automobile industry.
He is the chairman of several other companies including Tata
Daewoo Commercial Vehicles S Korea, Hispano - Carrocera
Spain, Tata Cummins Ltd, Tata Holset Ltd - UK. Ravi Kant
is a distinguished alumnus of Mayo College, Ajmer; Indian
Institute of Technology, Kharagpur; and Aston University,
Birmingham, UK from where he did his Masters in Management
in Industry.
Ravi Kant is on the Governing Board of National Institute
of Design and has served as Chairman of the Committee on Styling
& Design in SIAM. He has also been the Chairman of Audit Bureau
of Circulations, National Readership Studies Council & The
Advertising Standards Council of India.
