Topsel Toyota emerged in April 2000 as the result of a strategic decision of the company to diversify into the related automobile industry. Topsel found an ideal partner in Toyato, an international automobile giant, when Toyota Kirloskar Motor ventured into India with its primary offering, the Toyota Qualis. Topsel Toyota offers a full-fledged 3S (Sales Service & Spares) facility that is associated with Toyota vehicles worldwide. The dealership goal is to create a convenient, one-stop shopping environment to cater to all the automotive needs of the Toyota customers. The turnover of Topsel Toyota is 75 crores per annum. It also has a 2S facility at Siliguri and Asansol. Since beginning its operations in April 2000, Topsel Toyota has put more than 2500 satisfied customers on road. It has an average sale of 80-90 vehicles per month and around 1,000 vehicles annually, enjoying a market share of 35% in the MUV segment and more than 50% share in the premium vehicle segment in Kolkatta. Topsel Toyota services about 10,000 vehicles annually. The special facilities offered by the dealership are: Mobile Service Van and Pick & Drop facility. The principal person managing the dealership is Ashok Manaktala. Having obtained an Electrical Engineering degree in 1967 from Regional Engineering College, Durgapur, he joined Philips as an Illumination Engineer for a short stint before finally deciding to start his own business. He is also a member of Rotary Club and Vice President of Dalhousie Institute. His hobbies include playing badminton and gardening.
